DB Corey White released by New Orleans Saints

It’s been another busy day in the Big Easy.  WR Kenny Stills was traded and C.J. Spiller was signed.  This news will likely have the Who Dat Nation jumping out of their seats — the New Orleans Saints have officially released defensive back Corey White.

The move comes as no surprise.  White has been a tremendous disappoint for the Black and Gold.  The acquisition of Pro Bowl CB Brandon Browner to solidify the Saints’ struggling secondary made this decision an easy one.

Corey White performed quite poorly at cornerback in 2014, eventually being demoted and moved into a safety role as a backup to the backups. In three seasons with the Saints he recorded 125 tackles, 15 passes defended, four interceptions and a sack.

It was without question time for the New Orleans Saints to part ways with Corey White.  The club saves $1.5 million against the cap with the move, which likely had a hand in acquiring Spiller.
