Saints TE Jimmy Graham traded to the Seahawks

According to NFL insider Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks have finalized a trade that sends TE Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round pick to Pete Carroll and company in exchange for center Max Unger and a first-round pick.

Graham signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Black and Gold last year after the infamous wide receiver/tight end dispute.  He is owed a $5 million roster bonus in two days.

Jaws are dropping in the Crescent at the moment.  Jimmy Graham totaled 386 receptions for 4,752 yards and 51 touchdowns during his five-year career with the Saints.  He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was named first-team All-Pro in 2013.

This blockbuster trade brings Pro Bowl center/guard hybrid Max Unger to the Big Easy.  Protection for Drew Brees is a must — it seems like the Saints are trying to get back to the basics.  Remember, Graham did not step onto the scene until a year after New Orleans’ historic Super Bowl run.  As the story develops, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date, Who Dat Nation.
