All you could read about when Victor Butler came over from the Dallas Cowboys in 2013 was his ties to defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. You also heard that Butler, along with veteran Kenyon Coleman, would help the team teach the 3-4 defense to the Saints. Just a few months after signing with the New Orleans Saints, Butler would tear his ACL from a collision with running back Mark Ingram. That’s all you’d hear about Butler for the next year. He’d be placed on the PUP list in hopes that he could be available down the stretch for a potential playoff run, but wind up on injured reserve.

When 2014 entered the picture, we were hoping to finally see him suit up in black and gold, and help improve the Saints fourth ranked defense. Butler never got there. He missed too much time, and was released on August 26, 2014. Butler has since bounced around to three different clubs: the Arizona Cardinals, the Indianapolis Colts, and the New York Giants.
