We brought you a story on Tuesday about New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees teaming up with New York Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to set a Guinness World Record for most one-handed catches in a minute.
Needless to say, the record has been set with 33 one-handed grabs!
The event was held to promote Visa Checkout live on ESPN’s NFL Live as part of the events for Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix, Arizona. Beckham didn’t disappoint.
Beckham puts another exclamation point on his outstanding rookie season. Despite missing four games this season, Beckham still managed to finish tenth among all wide receivers in yardage (1,305 yards) on 91 receptions. He also tied for fourth along with four other receivers with his twelve touchdown receptions in 2014.
He earned Pro Bowl honors for his exceptional on the field performance, and promises to help the Giants be legitimate contenders in 2015.
Brees-Beckham is certainly a dream connection for many New Orleans Saints fans, and hats off to Drew for helping the rookie set a very impressive record!
In case you were wondering why Brees was the passer? Just take a look at this YouTube video of his lethal accuracy.
Brees has been quite busy this week, and recently made an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show. If you haven’t seen the videos of Brees talking about DeflateGate and his continued love for the city of New Orleans, be sure to check it out.
