The NFL Draft may not be for another several months, and we haven’t even dipped our toes into the offseason or free agency, but Mock Drafts are plentiful right now.

Among the most notable mock drafts to watch are ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.. He’s been at it longer than anyone else out there, and he published his first mock draft for the 2015 NFL Draft. New Orleans Saints fans couldn’t be happier with his selection of Clemson’s Vic Beasley.

Here’s what Mel had to say:

"Analysis: A year after they made great strides on defense, the Saints took a major step backward in 2014, and a big part of that was a lack of productivity in the pass rush. They simply weren’t as disruptive. Beasley is going to come in ready to play. I saw him as a potential top-15 pick in last year’s draft, and he came back to school and was just as productive, which is saying a lot given the attention paid to him in game planning. A year after notching 23 TFL, he came back and added 21.5. He’s a very good pass-rusher, pursues with his hair on fire and plays with exceptional energy."

An outside edge rusher is easily in the top three needs for the black and gold, and if you don’t believe that, then you might want to revisit my offseason needs article around the linebacker position. Personally, I believe an edge rusher is the top priority for the New Orleans Saints in 2015.

Shaq Thompson, another edge rusher pegged by many members of the Who Dat Nation as a desired selection at pick No. 13, was selected as the very next choice by the Miami Dolphins.

Would you be happy with the Vic Beasley selection? What about him do you like or not like?
