White was projected by most scouts coming out of colleg as a zone coverage safety. He played strong safety and cornerback while winning all-conference honors.
Two things that coaches loved about him and college and still continue to like about him in the NFL is that he is a versatile defensive back and is a quick in his development if he gets a significant amount of reps of whatever you ask from him.
The Saints were wise to wait a week before putting him in the game to give him more time to learn his responsibilities in the backfield under Ryan’s unique defense.
There are certainly new things to learn, but he should be comfortable in his position when the Saints face the Falcons. That’s why expect White to excel in his new position at free safety.
