The New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons have released their initial injury report for their much-anticipated Week 16 matchup on Sunday.
For the Falcons, several key pieces did not practice:
DID NOT PRACTICE: WR Julio Jones (hip), S William Moore (foot), WR Roddy White (knee), WR Harry Douglas (foot), G Jon Asamoah (back)
FULLY PRACTICED: CB Josh Wilson (hand)
Jones and Moore were inactive against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For the Saints, it’s fairly consistent with last week’s report. Note that the team didn’t particpate in drills today, so this is more of a ‘best guess’ report had the team practiced:
DID NOT PRACTICE: T Terron Armstead (neck), S Jamarca Sanford (hamstring), DE Akiem Hicks (ankle)
Armstead exited the Bears game after reaggravating his neck injury sustained against the Carolina Panthers. Sanford, who started in place of Kenny Vaccaro, was injured during the Monday Night Football game. Hicks was on the injury report last week.
Linebacker Junior Galette was missing from the injury report, which is a great sign for the team. Galette was hindered by a knee injury, and was questionable to play against the Bears. All he did was finish was two sacks and two tackles, which brought him up to nine sack on the season.
Galette needs to finish with twelve to trigger a major roster bonus over the next several seasons.
It’s entirely way too early to speculate the final status of these players, as it’s only Wednesday, but these are certainly injuries to keep an eye on.
