I don’t want to say that I’m excited about injury reports, but it just means that we’re that much closer to Sunday! The New Orleans Saints have issued their second injury report for Sunday’s Week One matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
DID NOT PRACTICE (DNP)
Kenny Stills, WR (Quad)
Erik Lorig, FB (Ankle)
Marcus Ball, S (Hamstring)
Unfortunately, Kenny Stills was downgraded from yesterday’s limited status. Hopefully Stills can recover some, but as of right now, it looks as though he will be replaced with the likes of Robert Meachem or Nick Toon. I didn’t forget about Brandin Cooks or Joe Morgan, by the way, they’re more of the slot receivers in New Orleans’ offense. We’ve been waiting for Nick Toon to turn things on, maybe this is his big chance?
No surprises on Lorig or Ball’s status. The Saints have a plethora of safeties, and we can bank on the fact that Austin Johnson will be the starting fullback, for at least one week. There’s no guarantee that Marcus Ball would have been playing in the first place, as the Saints likely would have placed him as an inactive.
Stay tuned for more injury updates as we draw closer to the game with Atlanta! We should get the final injury report tomorrow, and we’ll keep you up to date as much as we possibly can!
