Jack Mewhort, OT – Ohio State

Except for the center position, Saints’ offensive line is pretty much set right now that the team re-signed veteran right tackle Zach Strief. It might be a good idea to add some depth though, as the only back ups on the roster are Bryce Harris (tackle) and Tim Lelito (guard/center) – plus some practice squad guys.

Jack Mewhort (6’6″, 309) from Ohio State would be a great addition. What I like about him is his versatility: the three-year starter played the left tackle position in 2012 and 2013 but played the right guard/left guard positions in 2011. He even took some snaps at center at the Senior Bowl. Mewhort is projected to be a right tackle in the pros so he could develop behind Strief for a few years and then be an impact starter when his time comes while filling in as a back up offensive lineman.
