Round 2 – Pick 58

Martavis Bryant, WR – Clemson
Marques Colston is getting old and his injury situation is not good: the bad foot that bothered him throughout the whole 2013 season isn’t fully healed and the Saints might want a younger possession receiver to eventually replace him. Let me stop you right now: no, Nick Toon is not that guy.
Martavis Bryant (6’4″, 211) could be the guy. Sammy Watkins is getting all the attention but Bryant shouldn’t be overlooked as he racked up 42 receptions for 828 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2013. The combination of height and speed is nasty and his effort on contested catches is remarkable.
Colston and Bryant have a similar body type but Bryant still has some work to do: he needs to improve his technique as he relies too much on his speed to create separation; he also drops too many catchable balls, as Bleacher Report’s Ryan McCrystal pointed out here.
