The Saints just wisely brought back right tackle Zach Strief, so they’re mostly set on their offensive line when it comes to their starters. However, they still don’t have their free agent center locked up yet and they could really use some youth and depth across the line. Martin probably won’t be available when they pick in round one, but if he is the Saints may want to invest in the trenches to make sure they don’t have a drop-off in a year or two. The guys mentioned ahead of Martin are much more likely, but it’s not insane to think Ealy and Roby are both off the board. In fact, even if they’re still there, Martin is such a versatile prospect that New Orleans still might try to beef up their o-line with a guy like Martin.

New Orleans got back to the playoffs last year thanks to an improved defense, a more balanced offense and the return of head coach Sean Payton. Their defense needs to keep adding pieces to get even better, so Saints fans can expect them to start there in round one and try adding key depth pieces throughout the rest of the draft. Getting a pass rusher probably takes the cake at the moment in terms of needs, but New Orleans will also be in the market for a young corner. If both are still available, the Saints are a fairly safe bet to draft either Kony Ealy or Bradley Roby.
