#2 – Olin Kreutz (2011)
Olin Kreutz had a long and illustrious career with the Chicago Bears, playing twelve seasons (1998-2010) for the organization. He was a 6x Pro Bowler, and walked away from a $4M deal to remain a Bear in 2011.
On August 5, 2011, Kreutz signed with the New Orleans Saints for a one-year, $2 million contract, and was a fit to replace the recently Saints departed center, Jonathan Goodwin. Kreutz would only play in four of the first six games for the team, and promptly quit football. Kreutz said he ‘lost his passion for the game’, and was officially waived from the team on October 22nd.
Kreutz would never play football again.
