Saints Draft

Biggest Draft Busts In The Sean Payton Era

7 of 8

Reggie Bush, Running Back
2006 Draft, 1st Round, #2 Overall – USC

As many feelings that surround Saints fans around Reggie Bush, we can’t ignore how Bush played overall. He was overly dominant in college, and there’s no other way to say it. However, it didn’t translate on the field for the Saints. Bush was good, but wasn’t great. Injuries would plague him, he’d have costly turnovers, and eventually Who Dat Nation would turn fairly sour on Bush when he would run the ball. North and South weren’t the directions Bush chose, and it ended up hurting more than it helped.

Overall, 2006 was a very dismal year for players to be drafted, as the likes of Matt Leinart, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, and Vince Young are just small pieces of failed experiments.
