Andy Alleman, Guard
2007 Draft, 3rd Round, #88 Overall – Akron

Alleman (Al-uh-ma) was the fourth highest offensive tackle prospect to enter the 2007 draft. He was known for his physical style that would punish the opposing defender, and drew comparisons to Steve McKinney.

After being drafted by the Saints, he would spend his rookie seasons inactive for fifteen games, dressing but never playing. He wouldn’t survive final cuts in 2008, and drew much outside interest, as seven different teams put claims in on Alleman. He’d find his home with the Dolphins for only a season, and then after brief stints with the Chiefs and Colts, he’d never play after 2010.

Some Players The Saints Could Have Had In That Round: DE Ray McDonald (#97) – Let’s point out there’s not many from that round that still play today.
