Biggest Draft Busts In The Sean Payton Era

July 29, 2012; Metairie, LA, USA; New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Charles Brown (71) works with the blocking sled during a training camp practice at the team

Charles Brown, Tackle
2010 Draft, 2nd Round, #64 Overall – USC

Please tell me this doesn’t come as a shock to you. Brown was the #5 prospect of 96 total offensive tackles coming into the NFL draft in 2010. Brown had an interesting back story, as he was recruited from USC as a tight end prospect. The Saints would draft Brown, despite having four tackles on their roster. Brown would eventually see some action with the team, and then earn the starting left tackle job for the 2013 season. However, after another bad outing against the Rams, Sean Payton had seen enough, and it decided Brown’s fate with the team.

Some Players The Saints Could Have Had In That Round: Being that the Saints drafted last in the round, you’d have to look in the 3rd Round – Take your pick, but I’ll go with these two: WR Eric Decker (#87), LB Navarro Bowman (#91)
