3. New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers
Another away game, easily the toughest one. Even if it was a close one the Saints still lost the Carolina game last season.
The Panthers will be looking to add some weapons for Cam Newton via the draft (a wide receiver in the first round is a realistic hypothesis) but the Saints will reinforce their defense with either a cornerback or a pass rusher in the first round so it will be interesting to see the impact of the rookies when the two teams will meet.
Not much more to say, actually. They know us, we know them. It’s gonna be another nail-biter, hopefully with a different ending.
2. San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints
I know that the Saints defeated the Niners in the Dome last season but honestly that game could’ve gone either way. San Francisco is a good team in all three phases and will be without a doubt in the mix for top seed in the NFC next year.
A full season with a healthy Michael Crabtree and (possibly) a highly drafted rookie wide receiver could complete their offense with the aerial weapons they’ve been missing in ’13.
My hope is that Rob Ryan will continue his good job from last season against mobile quarterbacks so that Kaepernick will be forced to throw a.k.a. turn the ball over.
Also, I hope THIS will not happen again because it scared the hell out of me!
