The Saints Trade Drew Brees

I can already hear your expletives through your computer or mobile device. Let me preface by saying, I don’t think this will happen. However, I am just going with this as the biggest reach of the offseason.

Drew Brees, while expressing his desire to retire as a member of the Saints franchise, just turned 35 in January. Personally, I don’t think he’s showing any signs of slowing, or that he’s on the decline. However, my point is, a rebuilding franchise gets maybe four or five years out of Brees. If you’re a team that is looking to pull a complete turnaround, then I can’t begin to tell you how fast they’d line up for Drew Brees.

While that team would absorb his price tag, and the Saints would have to find another quarterback, the thought of what exactly Brees would command in terms of a trade is a very interesting thought.
