#19 – Kenyon Coleman, Defensive End
Kenyon Coleman was brought in to help teach the 3-4 scheme to the Saints, and provide some veteran leadership to the team, as he was a familiar understudy of Rob Ryan. Ryan called Coleman, “the best run defender in football as a 3-4 end”. Sadly, we never saw it on the field, as Coleman tore his pectoral muscle in August.
2014 Outlook: Coleman is going to be 35 in April, and besides the torn pectoral muscle he suffered this season, he missed nine games with the Cowboys the season before with a torn triceps. He’s an impact player on early downs, but the with the success the Saints had this season, it’s hard to see Coleman coming back.
