Charles Brown was the clear winner of the starting Left Tackle job in training camp, beating out veteran Jason Smith, and newcomer Terron Armstead. Brown would eventually lose his job to Terron Armstead, after a poor outing against the Rams. Of the Saints free agents, he graded out the worst on the Saints Pro Football Focus list at -9.2 on 974 snaps.
2014 Outlook: We haven’t heard or seen anything that would suggest that his job as a backup would even be safe at this point. Armstead has locked down the starting job at Left Tackle. Brown’s price tag would be better spent on others.
