Who Dat Nation can breathe a little easier today, as the Thursday injury report was released by the New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees was the big buzz yesterday, as he was limited in practice Wednesday with a knee injury.
Coach Payton addressed the media today, stating that Brees is fine, and it was just bruised. Here’s the other great news, all of the Saints players on the injury report yesterday were full participants of practice today.
TE Josh Hill (Hamstring)
RB Pierre Thomas (Eye)
S Rafael Bush (Ankle)
LB Keyunta Dawson (Calf)
LB Kevin Reddick (Shoulder)
QB Drew Brees (Knee)
T Terron Armstead (Shoulder)
WR Marques Colston (Back)
G Jahri Evans (Knee)
Call it voodoo magic maybe, but this is a very great sign for the Saints. We’ll get the final injury report tomorrow, but it’s extremely encouraging to see Keyunta Dawson and Rafael Bush fully practicing for the first time in a while. Bush could see a huge amount of increased snaps with Kenny Vaccaro lost for the season, and Keyunta Dawson was quietly playing a strong role on special teams and substitutions.
Also, an update to yesterday regarding WR Chris Williams, who parted ways with the Saints yesterday. Williams was signed to the Chicago Bears active roster, after spending 12 weeks on the Saints practice squad. There’s no telling what role he will play with the team, but with Devin Hester due to become a free agent this offseason, maybe there’s something to this. Let’s also say the Bears have to win against the Packers Sunday.
