All puns aside, it’s ‘Do Your Job’ time in New Orleans.
Sean Payton spoke with the media Monday, and made it evident that he’s going to do what is necessary to make sure the Saints fix the issues.
"“It’s our jobs very quickly here with an important game coming up to make corrections — and then also to look closely at who we’re asking to do certain things,” Payton said.“Listen, I think we’re looking closely at every element. You know, I told the players today in the team meeting we’re looking closely at each aspect of this team. And not trying to read into my answer, I just think it’s important for us to do that.“Whether it’s [the kicker], the tackle position, whether it’s a player on defense, the one thing I know I don’t want to do is just repeat the process over and over again. So we’re gonna look closely at what our options are and what gives us the best chance as we get ready to play this coming week and then obviously one week remaining.”"
Any person with half a brain knows this team has the talent, coaching, and personality to do huge things. However, at this point in time, the Saints are really in a position where there’s so much at stake, and perhaps desperation is setting in.
Simply put, if you want to win, you’ll do what it takes. If you have to drop people along the way, so be it. Garrett Hartley & Charles Brown look to be in the direct path of Hurricane Payton right now, and we’ll just have to wait until the next few days to figure out who is going to be made an example of.
