Special Teams Meltdowns Leave Points Off Board

Just when you think we’re over the Hartley funk, it rears its ugly head again. How in the world do we keep having these issues? It just doesn’t happen these days unless your name is Garrett Hartley.

Hartley would go 1/3 on the day. He started strong, making his first attempt of a 45-yard field goal to cut the Rams lead to 17-3. His next attempt from 36 yards would be blocked, and the Rams would hold on to a 24-3 lead at the half.

The Saints opted for Hartley to make it a one score game late, but that kick would be missed, just a 26-yard field goal attempt, and the Saints wouldn’t get a chance to pull off any type of miracle.
