New York Jets

If you believe in Karma, it was in full form for the Patriots Sunday. The game seemed as though it was going to rest on Tom Brady’s shoulders to get things finished for the Patriots, when Nick Folk missed a 56-yard field goal in overtime. However, a penalty flag was called on the Pats’ Chris Jones for unsportsmanlike conduct. This was the first time this penalty was ever called, as Jones pushed a teammate into the opponents formation from behind. Folk was given another chance to convert, and knocked it through from 42 yards to win the game. While the finish was controversial, the effort by the Jets is why I put them as a winner. They were down 21-10 at halftime.

Indianapolis Colts

You had to feel this one brewing. The highly respected, arguably best quarterback in franchise history returning home to face the young gun/new blood. The night full of emotions finished with the Broncos ‘perfect’ streak being ended. Manning was sacked 4 times on the night (ironically two were by long time teammate Robert Mathis), and intercepted once. The Broncos did fight back after being down 36-17 with only 12:59 left in the 4th quarter, but the Colts got off to the strong start, and held on for a huge win.

Last Man Standing

The Kansas City Chiefs held on to win against Case Keenum and company 17-16. It had the makings of a classic trap game for the Chiefs, but they emerged victorious, remain undefeated at 7-0, and now make another home stand against the Cleveland Browns.
