4. Brees can’t just “throw it out”

I’m not sure if this is a decision by Payton, the offensive coordinator, or Brees but it seems that whenever Brees begins to struggle passing the ball, they give him the ball more. As if he has hit a little bump and he’ll get over it if he just passes more. Well, yes and no. The Saints are effective running the ball. They just don’t do it often enough to see the big payoff. Pierre Thomas averaged 4.6 yards on 11 carries while Khiry Robinson averaged 7.5 yards on 7 carries.
