Thoughts From insidej0b
After last week, I feel like I should just stop picking games. This is why I don’t bet.
Bears – Eli Manning can’t stop turning the ball over
Bengals – The Bills actually thought it was a good idea to have a rookie quarterback backing up their rookie starting quarterback? Now they leap frog that backup with his backup? OK.
Lions – If Calvin Johnson plays, the offense is good. If not, well, you saw what they were able to do in Green Bay. If Johnson sits out a second week in a row, I pick the Browns.
Texans – Even though they look pretty bad, Foster should be able to run all over the Rams – regardless of who they have under center.
Chiefs – This Chiefs team looks good and has an easy schedule. They could end up with a better record than the Broncos if they keep playing mistake-free football. I can’t say the same for the Raiders.
Panthers – This is a tough game to pick. Both teams are bad but the Panthers defensive line should be able to keep AD somewhat contained. I don’t trust any of the quarterbacks on the Vikings roster.
Steelers – I am a glutton for punishment. The Steelers are coming off a bye and the Jets off a big win on Monday night. I have no confidence in this pick, but think the Steelers are desperate and that the Jets may not be the most focused bunch heading into this game.
Packers – The Ravens may have been able to edge the Dolphins last week but I don’t see that happening two weeks in a row. Rodgers and the Packers are better than Tannehill and the Dolphins, by far. Losing Clay Matthews could prove to be huge. We’ll see.
Eagles – I could see the Bucs coming together and winning this game now that the Freeman distraction is gone, but they won’t because they hate their coach and most likely want him gone too.
Broncos – Not even going to bother justifying this one.
Seahawks – As much as I’d love to see the Titans pull this one off, I can’t. I do think this could be a closer game than people are thinking. Gregg Williams will frustrate Wilson and get more than a few hits on him. If Locker wasn’t hurt, I’d give this one to the Titans.
Saints – So, it looks like Gronk is going to play. I don’t see him being as effective as everyone is saying after being sidelined for so long. The Saints defense has more playmakers than the Pats offense at this point. I don’t think the same can be said for the Pats defense compared to the Saints offense
49ers – The Cardinals could keep this close with their stout run defense thereby forcing Kaepernick to win the game with his arm (which he’s shown he can’t do too well if the threat of running isn’t there). If the Cards had anything resembling an offense, I might give them the nod.
Cowboys – These bastards almost made me look like a genius last week. Almost. They will beat the Redskins. RGIII and Haslett are frauds.
Colts – This team’s got some spunk and two solid lines. They will beat the erratic Chargers. Final score: 24-16, Colts. (Total – 40)
