The offense preformed well, the defense and special teams performed well. Some of the clock management by Sean Payton was a little strange th0ugh, which helped bring down this score. Another head scratcher was the power running game, which again had a poor showing. There is proof that, with balance of run and pass, the Saints do much better on offense. The coaching staff must figure out this problem or teams will start figuring out how to shut down Brees and make the Saints run to win the game.  In this game, however, the use of the screen pass, play-action, and downfield passing was drawn up perfectly to minimize the impact of the front seven of the Cardinals.

Rob Ryan continues to prove the league wrong. With a great offense, he has been able to open up his playbook a little and get creative. Taking Fitzgerald and Floyd out of the game was the key parts to his defensive plan and his players preformed that perfectly. It wasn’t the Dome Patrol but it was certainly fun to watch. Another round of drinks, Ryan?
