Offense: 93 A
I’m going a little soft with my grading, it seems. Despite the Saints ground game gaining 104 total yards (Drew Brees accounted for 21 of those yards), there was a noticeable lack of production from the ground game. Darren Sproles only had three carries for 17 yards but the real disappointment was the lack of production from Pierre Thomas, who had 28 yards on 11 carries for an average of 2.5 yards per carry. Yuck. It seems that even when Mark Ingram doesn’t play, we still get a lack of production from the “power back” role on offense.
But, what made this an A grade was the passing game. The passing game returned to a delightful experience after such a gross effort last week. The highlight of the offense was again Jimmy Graham, who compiled nine catches for 134 yards and two scores. Drew Brees was 29 for 46 for 342 yards, with a 27 yard touchdown pass to Robert Meachem and another score he ran in himself. All in all, what we expect every Sunday from Brees and Graham.
