Mr. Clutch + Mr. Reliable
After Rian Lindell missed a 47 yard field goal with 1:10 left in the 4th Quarter, we all knew what was coming. Drew Brees had a golden chance to lead his team to a victory, and with the missed field goal, it only meant the Saints had to come away with 3 points. It took the Saints offense just 3 plays to get down to the Bucs 9 yard line, and that would eventually set up a 27 yard Garrett Hartley game winning field goal.
On the drive, Brees connected with Jimmy Graham for 15 yards, then Darren Sproles for 8, and finally, which is arguably the ‘play of the day’, Marques Colston hauled in a beautiful 31 yard pass from Brees.
Career wise, this was Brees 22nd 4th quarter comeback, and 33rd game winning drive. It may not have been pretty all game, but he showed up when it counted, and when he was needed most.
