Defense: 89 B

I give the defense a passing grade because they were ridiculous in their ability to shut down the Tampa passing offense. They brought pressure and were impressive in coverage. Doug Martin was the kryptonite. Martin had 29 carries for 144 yards. But, to limit him to no touchdowns was impressive. He is a monster of a running back and even the best of defenses have a hard time shutting him down. Vincent Jackson tried his hardest but he either had too many drops or fell down.

The Saints were really effective in causing problems for Freeman, despite another injury on the defensive line and in the secondary. Some penalties negated huge gains for the Tampa offense but, in general, the Saints D was impressive. Rob Ryan is continuing to impress Saints fans.
