Defense needs to get better at run defense

The Saints defense had a great day when Atlanta’s Matt Ryan had the ball in his hands. The problems started when he began giving it to running back Steven Jackson. Jackson finished with 77 yards rushing and no touchdowns but he ripped off a huge 50-yard run in the third quarter that started giving me flashbacks to skittle-munching Marshawn Lynch’s run in 2011.

The Saints will face big backs like Lynch, Forte, Ridley, and Gore this season and need to find ways to limit their yardage. The Saints face a unique challenge in Doug Martin next week as well.
