Falcons fans have learned to hate this duo as they have this nasty habit of breaking records against them and making them look silly on defense. They did it again in the season opener as quarterback Drew Brees broke the record for most passes completed against the Falcons defense (26 completed passes), a record that was previously held by Joe Montana.

If I had to grade Payton’s play-calling performance in this game it would be a B- (hey, it’s his fault for setting the standard so high). There were some places where the Old Payton would have been aggressive, but he simply does not know the team well enough to take alot of calculated risks right now. That is to be expected but the Saints offense will continue to gain confidence in the coming weeks. The defense won this game for Payton.
