Ramon Humber Answers the Call

With Jonathan Vilma out, I, respectfully, disagreed with Mike Triplett’s less-than-optimistic tone about the depth at inside linebacker. Tonight I was proven right, sort of. Where I though David Hawthorne would be the man to step up, Ramon Humber proved he deserves to be in the discussion at inside linebacker. Humber had six tackles, one for a loss, a sack, and a quarterback hit.

His play was such a shock that I had to make sure no. 53 wasn’t someone else. He was a younger Vilma, flying to the ball carrier and causing mayhem at a position that sees little action inside the pocket. While Saints fans all wish for Vilma’s healthy return, Humber proved tonight there is room for him on the roster.
