Kenny Vaccaro, Glenn Foster Continue to Make Waves

Kenny Vaccaro was all over the field against the Raiders. He was a deep safety, close to the line, and held his own in the nickel corner position. It seems the Saints want him ready for the regular season. His six tackles tied for most on the night and he was a dominant presence on the field. His tackle on Brice Butler separated the receiver from the ball with authority. One thing the Saints didn’t need to teach Vaccaro was how to tackle.

On a slightly lesser but still encouraging note, Glenn Foster, a surprise up-and-comer, had another great game tonight. While his special teams penalty was disappointing, his two sacks were impressive on defense. Suddenly, the defensive end position for the Saints new 3-4 defense has become a logjam behind Akiem Hicks and Cameron Jordan. Foster is trying to make sure he clears the jam.
