Now that the New Orleans Saints are making the transition to a 3-4 scheme, it an opportunity for them to get to see some potential 4-3 defensive ends workout as a possible 3-4 outside linebacker whom the team really needs as they head into the 2013 season.

Among the draft prospects asked to not only workout at the NFL Scouting Combine as a defensive end but an outside linebacker are those that have seen themselves on a few mock drafts for the Saints like Barkevious Mingo, Alex Okafor, Dion Jordan, and Ziggy Ansah.

Okafor and Ansah could be the biggest question marks in this group since some critics think Okafor might be too big or not athletic enough to drop in coverage.  Ansah of course is a rookie when it comes to football since playing only a situational pass rusher for two years and then close to a full 2012 season and is regarded as being very raw.

Another player considered a defensive end but is unclear if he’ll workout as a linebacker is Sam Montgomery.  He previously said that he could fit in the 3-4 scheme of the Saints and said he expected to speak with them at the Combine.
