The New Orleans Saints will now know what order they will pick in the 2013 NFL Draft after it was revealed today. The following is a look at what round and pick number that they have.
Round 1–Pick #15
Round 2–Forfeit due to bounty punishment
Round 3–Pick #13(75th overall)
Round 4–Pick #12(106th overall)
Round 5–Pick #11(137th overall)
Round 6–Pick #15(173rd overall)
Round 7–Traded to Seattle Seahawks for linebacker Barrett Ruud
What will be interesting to see is if the Saints will stay where they are at or attempt to recoup their lost 2nd round pick with either a trade prior to the draft with one of their players or if they will do something during the draft to trade down in the 1st round and gain a second round pick out of it.
The Cincinnati Bengals could be an attractive candidate for the latter move since they hold the 21st pick in the first round and the 5th and 23rd picks in the 2nd round. The Saints could try to trade down to the 21st pick in the 1st round and at least gain the 23rd pick in the second round if the Bengals do want to trade up bad enough.
