In a story that was reported late last year, former New York Giants safety Chad Jones will workout for the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday in an attempt to put his professional football career back on track after being out of football for three years.

Jones was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft but in June of that year was involved in a car accident that almost cost Jones his left leg when the vehicle’s axle broke in two and went through the floorboard shredding skin, tissue, and arteries.

After struggling in rehab, Jones worked out diligently to return to football but the Giants released him this past offseason after failing a physical.  While there were some that thought that was it, Jones kept working and not giving up.

Jones has also tried out for the Philadelphia Eagles but left without a contract.  There are plenty of Saints fans that want to see the New Orleans native return as well as L.S.U. fans rooting for the former Tigers hard hitting safety to return to Louisiana for good.
