The New Orleans Saints just dodged a bullet recently by keeping a vital member of their coaching staff after losing former offensive line coach Aaron Kromer to the Chicago Bears.
Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. was being given the opportunity to leave the Saints after the Jacksonville Jaguars requested permission to speak with him to become their offensive coordinator.
However Carmichael declined to entertain the thought of leaving and chose to remain in New Orleans. It’s been reported that he will hammer out a new contract with the Saints in order to keep him in The Big Easy for some time.
The decision to stay with the Saints isn’t a shocker since Carmichael is already comfortable with the offensive triad of head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees.
