The New Orleans Saints will try to establish some momentum going into the offseason when they face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as well as a few other things.
Currently at 7-8 the Saints are wanting to reestablish a motto that quarterback Drew Brees helped coin a few seasons ago, “Finish Strong.” Or in this case just even out.
After being eliminated from the postseason by the Vikings and Bears winning on Sunday, the last goal that the team has is get one last victory against the Panthers and end their season at 8-8.
While it may seem like a futile effort and that the coaching staff should rest high priced players like quarterback Drew Brees, it’s important for the Saints to have the mindset of not giving up which was evident the last few games.
With the Panthers on a current win streak of three games, it’s no doubt that they will attempt the same goal of the Saints. This should lead to a major effort by both teams to finish with their heads held high walking out of the Superdome on Sunday.
