In the injury report given yesterday there a three New Orleans Saints players that will likely miss Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.  However, things look promising for running back Darren Sproles to be ready to go.

Interim head coach Joe Vitt said yesterday that offensive tackle Zach Strief(groin), defensive end Junior Galette(ankle), and cornerback Corey White(knee) did not practice at all on Thursday.

This means that they won’t see any action against the Raiders since the team will be departing for Oakland later this afternoon to have a full day to prepare for Sunday.  Although nothing has been confirmed, the announcement should come later today on their status.

Sproles practiced fully and has shown improvement since surgery several weeks ago on  his left hand.  Vitt did say that they may have to limit him on some return duties against the Raiders.

On that front, wide receiver Courtney Roby is back to full status as well after missing last week with a shoulder injury.  He could be called upon to return kickoff’s if they want to save Sproles a bit.
