New Orleans Saints fans would love to see veteran linebacker Jonathan Vilma return to the active roster and play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. That will hinge on a deadline that is only more than three hours away.
Reports are that the Saints will have until 4:00 p.m. ET to decide if Vilma will be activated off of the Physically Unable to Perform list. If he isn’t activated, then he won’t be able to play tomorrow.
If Vilma misses the opportunity to play this week, he would be eligible to be activated for the game against the Denver Broncos next Sunday(Oct. 28th) if the coaching staff sees the same performance that they did this past week during practice.
The main concern for the coaches, and for Vilma, is making sure that his injured knee will hold up after a lengthy rehab and not set him back for a considerable amount of time.
