In a recent Twitter post by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, fellow NFLN reporter Alex Flanagan is saying that New Orleans Saints Jonathan Vilma will be activated for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The report also says that tight end Jimmy Graham, who is sidelined by an ankle injury will not play and didn’t even make the trip with the team. Graham would have been a much needed weapon against the Bucs passing defense which ranks in at 31st in the NFL.
Vilma should bring not only his big play ability to the Saints defense, but also a string of emotion to the linebacking corps. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo hinted that Vilma will be used in a variety of packages at the position and not just the middle linebacker spot.
In a another report by Jennifer Hale, wide receiver Greg Camarillo was released to make room for the return of Vilma. Camarillo has found himself on and off the Saints roster, this being the third time.
