With the suspension reinstated for defensive end Will Smith looming and his replacement Turk McBride sidelined for the last three weeks with an ankle injury, the New Orleans Saints are still doing their homework on defensive end free agents.

NFL writer Aaron Wilson reported that the club worked out defensive ends C.J. Ah You, Everette Brown, and Jay Richardson.  Like defensive end James Hall who recently worked with the Saints, Ah You has some history with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Ah You was a 2007 7th-round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills who spent a majority of his career with the St. Louis Rams(2007-2012).  For his career, Ah You has 41 tackles and six sacks.

Brown was a 2009 2nd-round draft pick for the Carolina Panthers(2009-2010).  Brown then was with the San Diego Chargers in 2011 and the Detroit Lions during the offseason this year.  Since 2009 he has registered 48 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and one interception.

Richardson was a 2007 5th-round draft pick for the Oakland Raiders(2007-2009) and also has been with the Seattle Seahawks as well as the New York Jets.  For his career he has registered 117 tackles and seven sacks.
