Defensive tackle Tommie Harris-for this veteran defensive lineman, life has been rough the past year. Injuries have hampered Harris on occasion and in February of this year he lost his wife to a brain aneurysm not long after the birth of their child.
Harris could definitely benefit from the Saints new defense and move to a place where fans truly embrace the players and their family. Injuries aside, Harris was a great player during his time with the Chicago Bears from 2004-2011.
He spent last season with the San Diego Chargers on a one-year deal which the Saints could also offer him. At the age of 29, a creative defense, and seemingly back to a healthy state, Harris could return to his Pro Bowl form.
Harris is solid against the run and in pass rush. For his career he has 226 tackles with 34 for a loss and 31.5 sacks.
