Potential landing spots for wide receiver Marques Colston in free agency

A team that no Saints fan wants to hear about Colston going to is the San Francisco 49ers.  Yet, they too have been mentioned as being interested in bringing him in to be part of the rising franchise.

With tight end Vernon Davis as the only real threat in receiving, Colston would help open up the field for the 49ers.  They came close to a Super Bowl this past season and could feel Colston would be just the right fit in helping them get to a championship.

This option is most probably unbearable since the 49ers ended the Saints season in the playoffs this past season and that they will play the Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this upcoming season.

If Colston leaves for the 49ers, we’ll get to see him in play in the Superdome again, but it’ll be in red and gold and not black and gold.  But these are things that are still some time away.  The value that Colston brings to the Saints is still needed.

Especially since wide receiver Robert Meachem is also scheduled to be a free agent and wide receiver Devery Henderson isn’t ready to take on a main role yet.  The Saints know this and will do their best to make sure “The Quiet Storm” will “rain” in New Orleans for some time to come.
