If Colston leaves, you can believe he will have some suitors in several teams that are need of a wide receiver that can help their offense. One franchise rumored to be interested in him is the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins are in need of a stable wide receiver to help them in their passing game. They are thought to be in the running to try to land former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III in the 2012 NFL Draft by trading up to get him.
If they are successful, Colston could be a huge weapon for Griffin or any quarterback they bring in for that matter. Plus we know that owner Dan Snyder doesn’t mind shelling out the money for what he wants.
Another team that has been speculated about is the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have cleaned house so to speak and want to find that receiver that will aid quarterback Carson Palmer in finding the endzone on a regular basis.
New head coach Dennis Allen is also familier with Colston since he spent time with the Saints as their secondary coach before leaving for the Denver Broncos. The Raiders are also not shy about handing out nice contracts either. The Raiders don’t have a big receiving target and Colston would fill it nicely.
