Moving Harper will also help solidify another area of the Saints defense that need’s help, where players like free agent Jonathan Casillas should be tendered a contract, but players like like Scott Shanle, and perhaps others, may not be with the team in 2012.

That will allow the Saints to look into free  agency and perhaps fill Harper’s position in the defensive back field with a proven player.

The one free agent player the Saints should actively seek is CB Richard Marshall from Arizona.

Drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2006, Marshall is entering his 7th season in the NFL.

He signed with the Arizona Cardinals the following season in 2007 and has started every game since being drafted.

Marshal is a starting corner back in this league, but last season his numbers were pretty good playing both corner back and safety recording 78 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions.

While Marshall has never been mentioned as one of games elite corner’s, he’s physical and a very capable of being on of the elite safeties in the game, that is if he can be convinced to make the move full time.

The Cardinals are going to try and retain his services, but I think this is one player who could help the Saints right now, and they probably could get him at a fairly decent price.
