Cornerbacks the New Orleans Saints could pick in the 2012 NFL Draft

2 of 4

Stephen Gilmore-South Carolina:  Gilmore helped transform the Gamecock’s secondary as a junior and had three interceptions during the season and one during their appearance in the Capital One Bowl.

Gilmore has had eight total interceptions in three seasons with 181 tackles.  In 2010, along with three interceptions, Gilmore boasted three sacks and six tackles for a loss.

His run defense is very good for a cornerback but the only thing  is Gilmore can be inconsistent in man coverage and could lead to some big plays.  He’s projected to be a second round pick but could slip to the third round.

Trumaine Johnson-Montana:  Johnson has been moving up the boards courtesy of draft guru Mike Mayock.  He was selected to the American Football Coaches Association 2011 FCS All-America Team.

This past season, Johnson had 44 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, one forced fumble, eleven pass break-ups and twelve pass deflections.  He also had a league high at Montana with fourteen passes defended.
