New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress likely won’t be back with the team next season, after signing a one-year 3.01 million dollar contract last year. He never really developed great chemistry with Mark Sanchez, and he event went as far to say “Sanchez is Sanchez” when questioned about their relationship.

But his future with the Jets aside Burress recently made a comment about Saints quarterback Drew Brees, saying that Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder will sign the Pro Bowl quarterback once free agency starts.

"I have a strange prediction for what I believe is going to happen. I believe that Drew Brees is going to land in Washington. Everybody knows that guy Daniel Snyder, how he feels about spending a little bit of bread. I just got a hunch Drew Brees is going to land in Washington."

While certainly many teams would be interested in signing Brees if he were to become a free agent, there is simply not any reason to suggest that he and the Saints won’t get a deal done sooner rather than later.

New Orleans wants Brees in a Saints uniform for the rest of his playing career, but more importantly Brees himself doesn’t want to play anywhere else in the NFL. After GM Mickey Loomis confirmed he would lose his job if the Saints couldn’t re-sign him, Brees said he would “shocked” if he wasn’t a Saint for life.

The Saints have several other big name free agents to contend with this off season as wider receiver Marques Colston and guard Carl Nicks are both seeking new deals. Brees is top priority, leaving the futures of Colston and Nicks heavily in doubt.
