It might not be war exactly, but New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton has sent a message to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome crowd for the Monday night game to bring an important weapon with them against the New York Giants.
One thing Saints opponents will say about playing in “The Dome” is that it is loud. Like, jet engine loud at times. An advantage that can’t be measured unless you count decibel levels.
As of most recent was the game against the Houston Texans on September 25. The atmosphere was so loud and intense, my ears actually hummed and my voice was shot for two days after the game. Hey, every down is third down to me.
My one observation has been that since the Super Bowl season, season ticket holders have sold their tickets to “Faux Who Dats”. People more concerned with being seen or have people seeing they went to a Saints game than being, well, heard at a Saints game.
A concern with some of our seatmates was that the recent renovations to our section to Bunker Club status would bring the “wine and cheese” crowd out even more. Yeah, I’m looking at you my collared shirt, khaki pants, wing-tip wearing crowd. And yes, we see your $120 button up shirt has a fleur-de-lis on it.
Well pay attention my Grey Poupon spreading people, Coach Payton is basically asking for all you’ve got Monday night in a game that is important for both clubs to win in the race to the playoffs.
