It’s going to be a tough loss for one of two teams in the NFC South in Week 9 as the season has hit the half way point.
New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Saints suffered an embarrassing loss to the win-less St. Louis Rams last week, in which neither offense or defense could get anything going. They had hoped to be 6-2 coming in to face the Bucs but are now at 5-3.
The Bucs, who are 4-3, hold a division win over the Saints but sit at number two in the NFC South. They would love to pull a win against the Saints and be at 5-3 with another division win and snag the number one spot.
Both teams realize how important this game is and what ramifications it holds for the rest of the season. The Saints are at the same spot they were last season with a 5-3 record and we saw how that turned out.
The Bucs meanwhile glimpsed the playoffs last year and are desperately wanting to set a tone for the rest of the season. Sweeping the Saints would be just the momentum they would need to continue their march to the postseason.
